River Listening Event

What do sounds reveal about a river, and the plants and animals that live within it? If we listen carefully, what might we hear?

The event will comprise a short walk along the River Allen, and a series of listening activities to help us engage more closely with the river environment.

We will listen to the sounds of wildlife using special microphones, positioned both above and below the water surface. We will also explore how we might develop our own creative responses to what we hear in and around the river.

The event will be led by Adrian Newton in collaboration with Hannah White and Stephen Shiell (Blanc Sceol), who are accredited Deep Listening practitioners and sound artists.
