Beginner’s Course – April/May 2026
Venue: High Mead Farm, Ham Lane, Longham, Ferndown, BH22 9DP

6 sessions are on a Saturday from 10.00– 12.00:
· 18th April
· 25th April
· 2nd May
· 9th May
· 16th May
· 23rd May
Each session is part theory and part practical, when you will put on a beesuit and open the hives to inspect (subject to weather).
Topics
· Equipment, hygiene, colony acquisition, hive notes.
· Smoker, hive tools and frame/hive assembly.
· Weekly Inspection (Part 1). Health of colony, inspection check list.
· Weekly Inspection (Part 2). Space, swarm signs, queen spotting and stores.
· Supering and Varroa.
· Winter feeding.
Cost: Members £50.00, Non-Members £70.00
