Please join PETA and local activists to protest the Willow Restart of this year's deadly Iditarod dog race.
Over 150 dogs have died in this cruel race, and in the last decade, dogs forced to run in the Iditarod have died from causes including heart attacks, internal bleeding, being struck by vehicles, and aspiration pneumonia—caused by inhaling their vomit.
During last year’s race, a dog in a late stage of pregnancy, Ventana, died after being forced to run more than 300 miles, and the year prior, three young dogs collapsed and died on the trail. The dogs need all of us to stand up against this extreme cruelty and prevent more of them from dying, so please make these events a priority.
Dogs, just like those who may share our homes, deserve far better than a lifetime of isolation at the end of a chain, along with the cruelty and suffering that’s involved in training for and running in the Iditarod.
