Founded in 1919, The American Legion has been a leading advocate for veterans and their families. The four pillars of the American Legion: Veterans & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, & Children & Youth form the foundation and basis for all our programs. Conroe Post 411 plays a large role for our local veterans and community from volunteering where needed, sponsoring students in various events, sharing guidance for receiving benefits, to providing financial assistance for our veterans (and their windows & orphans) when in crisis.
Each year our members invest thousands of volunteer hours aiding the veterans and our community. In recent years, the call to help has grown significantly. Montgomery County has over 35,000 veterans, so their diverse needs continue to grow. Where we used to receive 6-8 requests for assistance each year, we now see an average of 4 per month with numbers continuing to rise.
