Great Machipongo River Kayak Float

A rare opportunity to paddle this scenic, remote river on the seaside of Virginia's Eastern Shore. We'll launch at high tide from the narrow headwaters of the Great Machipongo River and float with the outgoing tide through pristine salt marsh as the river widens to the working waterman's community of Willis Wharf. We'll pass the clam shacks of Quinby Bridge and stop for a picnic lunch along the way.

We only do this trip once or twice a year, based on the tides.

Full Day guided kayak tour with lunch: $130 per person. Kayaks, gear, lunch and shuttle included.
