Slam Qualifier 1

It’s time to slam!

A slam qualifier is an official slam poetry competition where the top two finishers automatically earn a spot in the historic triangle grand slam. The top four finishers in the grand slam are in a spot on the first ever slam connection slam team that will represent Williamsburg at the southern fried poetry slam in Orlando, Florida
in 2026

The rules are as follows:

-3 Rounds
-maximum of 12 poets
-each poet will be given three minutes with a 10 second grace period
-there will be a panel of three or five judges
-The first two rounds will be cumulative scoring and the final round is clean slate
-each round will be single elimination (the cut will be based on the number of poets present)
-no props, music, accompaniment, or nudity will be allowed
