Synopsis:
Playwright Alex Dennison invites cast members to a “rehearsal” one year after his fiancée’s death. As the actors read through the script, eerie parallels to Monica’s death emerge. As tensions rise and secrets unravel, each character is forced to confront their past involvement in Monica’s final production. Is this truly a rehearsal for a new play—or a carefully staged trap to expose a killer?
Character Breakdown:
Alex Dennison – A playwright whose fiancée died under suspicious circumstances. He orchestrates a “rehearsal” to uncover the truth.
Monica Welles – Alex’s fiancée and a rising actress. Her death is initially ruled a suicide.
David Matthews – Leading man in Alex’s play; charming but possibly hiding secrets.
Lloyd Andrews – The director of the original play; professional but evasive.
Bella Lamb – The producer; pragmatic and profit-driven.
Karen Daniels – Monica’s understudy; ambitious and observant.
Frank Heller – A mysterious actor brought in by Alex; later revealed to be a fake cop.
Leo Gibbs – A comic actor; nervous and easily rattled.
Sally Bean – Alex’s naïve new secretary
Other characters:
