The Descent & Return: A Grief Gathering
Grief is not something to fix or overcome — it is something to honor. It is the echo of how deeply we have loved, how profoundly we have connected, and how courageously we have lived. To grieve is to have known beauty. To ache is to remember love.
Psychologically, grief is not linear — it’s more like a ball of yarn. Some days, you tug on one thread and it unravels sadness; another day, it pulls up anger, guilt, or joy. Each emotion is part of the same weave — the tapestry of love, loss, and what it means to be human. Grief doesn’t go away with time; it softens as we learn to live beside it, integrating it into who we are.
This gathering is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and meet grief through the body, the breath, and creative expression — to transform it from something we carry alone into something witnessed, honored, and sacred.
Together, we’ll move through an experiential journey that includes:
● Somatic & Rewilding Practices – gentle movement and breathwork to reconnect with the body and release what’s been held within
● Drum Journey – rhythmic guidance into your inner landscape to access the wisdom held beneath the surface
● Creative Art Ritual: Letters to the Lost – a sacred writing, release, and renewal practice. You’ll write a letter to what (or who) you’ve lost, symbolically burn or tear part of it, and plant the ashes or fragments with a seed or flower — transforming grief into new life
● The Body as Altar – an embodied reflection honoring the body as sacred vessel for both loss and love
● Integration Circle – using Thread & Tether cards and nature-based anchors for meaning, remembrance, and renewal
Through story, sound, and creation, we’ll remember that grief is not the opposite of love — it is love, transformed.
