Join us for an evening of gentle, open, supportive, and inspiring artist crits at ROOM Residency.

This is a chance to:

🎨 Have your own work/art problem crited by the group - WE WILL BE RELEASING PLACES SOON!

The crits offer artists in residence and artist guests a space to present their work and share any questions, challenges, or ideas they’d like feedback on.

The audience in attendance responds with open-ended questions, encouraging artists to discover their own solutions and insights.

At the end of each session, time is reserved for reflections and suggestions, helping to nurture growth and connection.

Please note:

Places at this event are only a few slots to have work crited (RELEASED SOON), and other tickets are for creatives to come and join the process but not have their work critiqued. Check the details of your booking selection.

Experiencing the process, seeing how crits work, and network and connect with artists.

Please note though under 18s are welcome with a parent/guardian - art themes and language may not be suitable for children or young people. The event is intimate and involves listening and thoughtful input. Personal discretion is advised.

Open to artists at any stage of career looking to experience the crit process can attend. The event is ideal for art lovers curious about the behind-the-scenes of creative practice and anyone wanting to connect with Wigan’s growing creative community

Venue: The Old Courts, Wigan. Entrance 7.

Date & Time: Monday 8th December at 4.00pm.

Free entry with limited space available and ticketed allocation.

Booked A Crit for yourself??

What you need to know/bring:

Bring a small selection of your work or have work ready on a phone or laptop to demonstrate.

Think about a specific issue, problem or question you are struggling with around your practice in advance that you can ask the group. Eg What mediums should I explore to develop my ideas further? Does my work feel cohesive? What are the next steps to get my work seen?

You will present your work and question for between 5-10 min. The group will then ask you open questions (no statements) for up to 10 mins. The group can make encouraging and positive suggestions and statements for the last 5 mins.
