Winter Wildlife is the theme in Algonquin Provincial Park.
We will meet at 8am in the West Gate parking lot. From there we will explore several of my favorite places in the Highway 60 corridor for opportunities to view Algonquin Park Wildlife.
There are several places for washrooms breaks throughout the day. We will have lunch inside the Algonquin Park Visitors Centre. Please bring your own lunch, drinks and snacks.
Our focus will be on some of Algonquin Parks Winter birds, including Canada Jay, Spruce Grouse, Black Backed Woodpecker, Evening Grosbeak and other Winter Finches. But this event will not be only about the birds. I will try my best to give us the opportunity to see Moose, American Marten and other Algonquin mammals.
Of course with Wildlife there are no guarantee. But we will for sure have a great day. Any day in Algonquin is a great day.
This will not be a car birding event. Though we will drive to various locations within the Highway 60 corridor my intention is to get out and walk the trails. Snow Shoes would be an asset. We should expect deep snow in places.
This is a FREE event
As always I prefer to keep the group small and would like to keep the group to no larger than 8 participants.
I love Algonquin. It is truly my cathedral. I look forward to sharing some of my favorite places.
