Learn new map reading skills practice navigation techniques, advance your navigation knowledge or learn new techniques, or just come out on an enjoyable a walk at night around a beautiful part of the world.
High Tide Adventure Company are running a hill night navigation session. This will involve navigating to check points around the Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland. Night navigation is a great way to practice and home in your navigation skills.
Techniques used will range from basic map reading, to more advanced methods such as pacing, aiming off and walking on a bearing.
This day is suitable for anyone keen to learn how to navigate in the hills and caters for all walkers, inexperienced up to advanced. This activity is suitable for children 12 + who must be accompanied by a participating adult.
The cost for a days tuition on the hills around Hadrian's Wall, is £30 per person. This includes guiding by a qualified Mountain Leader, and all maps and compasses will be provided. Transport is also available (with limited space in my car, first come, first serve).
Please note you must have your own head torch or torch, walking equipment, enough warm clothing to keep you warm and dry for the whole session and a food and water, tea or coffee.
