Join Molonglo Conservation Group, Dreamtime Connections, ACT Parks and Conservation Services, Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch and Mingle Suburban Land Agency for a day of hands-on activities, learning, and connection with Country. Take part in one, two, or all three sessions!
Help restore the reserve and learn about local native plants. No experience needed, just bring your energy and curiosity!

Join Aaron Chatfield for a talk on the edible, medicinal, and practical uses of native plants, plus the making of traditional tools. Includes bush tucker tasting, bush tea, and Q&A.

Come join Waterwatch for a hands-on training session on country to learn all about the amazing biodiversity of the Great Southern region!
This in-person, on country training session will meet at the Namarag Reserve carpark before heading into the reserve to take sightings. Get ready to explore and discover the amazing biodiversity of the Bush Capital as a part of the Great Southern BioBlitz 2025. No prior experience is required.
Learn from experts, participate in hands-on activities, and contribute to important scientific research. Don't miss this unique opportunity to connect with nature and learn more about the environment around us. See you there!

· Getting set up to record and submit sightings
· Exploring the Reserve and recording its Biodiversity
You can register to submit sightings as a part of the Great Southern BioBlitz 2025 here before the event: Great Southern Bioblitz 2025: Canberra · iNaturalist Australia. We will discuss the range of apps that can be used to submit sightings at the event. A smartphone can be used on the day to take and submit sightings or photos can be taken with a camera and uploaded later.
Important Event details:
Light refreshments and toilets available. Please wear sturdy shoes and sun-smart clothing. Tools and gloves provided (bring your own if preferred). Pre-dug holes will make planting easy for all ages.
The Native Planting Workshop and Indigenous Plant Use Sessions are accessible by gravel path. The walking trail for the Bioblitz training involves off-path walking on uneven terrain and may not appropriate for prams, wheelchairs or those with limited mobility.
