WRITING WORKSHOP: Episodic Storytelling: Scenes, Seasons, Series

All storytelling - no matter the genre or form - has deep roots in the structure of beginning, middle, and end. In this high-energy mock writers-room workshop, we’ll look at how television stories scale from the smallest scene level, up through episode and onward into seasons and series of television. Using a beloved fairy tale we choose in the room, we’ll create the framework for a first season, pilot episode, and first act of a TV show. Come with your best collaborative mindset and be ready to work on your feet!

Zac Hug is a television and screenwriter, as well as a Lecturer of Film and Television Writing at University of British Columbia. Directing work includes the award winning short Just Between Us and web series These People.
