Megan Jean Klay began writing and performing original music 20 years ago in NYC’s East Village while studying theatre at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She held a residency at CBGB’s and played iconic venues like The Knitting Factory and Piano’s.
Byrne Klay started gigging professionally at 16 in White Plains, NY, and toured internationally with the theatrical punk outfit Dynamite Club from 2002–2005.
In 2004, the two met, and began a musical partnership that’s spanned decades. As a husband-and-wife duo, they’ve performed over 2,000 shows as KFB, sharing stages with Charles Bradley, Shovels and Rope, Amythyst Kiah, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, Melvin Seals, and 10,000 Maniacs.
In 2022, Byrne joined The Folk Em All Trio with Jody Mosser and Fiddlin’ Ray Bruckman, which later teamed up with Joe Craven (Jerry Garcia/David Grisman) to form Joe Craven and the Y’allterations.
Megan and Byrne also perform together in the newly formed Megan Jean’s Secret Family, recently named a favorite new act by DC Music Review. Their new album is pure fire and streaming everywhere now.
We’re thrilled to welcome them back to the Underground Stage at the Silver Rail Bar & Grill on Saturday, July 26 at 9 PM—and even more excited to have them share the bill with everyone’s favorite folk rockers, The New Age Adenas, who always bring the good times, great harmonies, and positive vibes.
