Community IMPACT Coalition Meeting

Join us at our next meeting on Wednesday, October 8th at 12:00-1:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church! (Lunch will be provided. 😉)

At our last meeting, we discussed how we could get youth involved in the coalition. We said that there is need for a place that youth can go to engage in healthy activities as an alternative to using substances to have fun. We discussed a Youth Drop-in Center, with the prevention office at YSS being a possible location.

We think that the most appropriate target audience for the group should include grades 7-12. We want to emphasize youth-driven activities to promote coalition involvement, identity, and pride.
We brainstormed activities that could be provided to youth by the coalition. Ideas included a creative writing class, a cooking class, tie-dye T-shirts and adding a group logo that the youth create, and geocaching. We need your help to make this project a reality. If you have a special hobby or skill that you would like to share, bring your ideas to the next meeting!
