Writing Haunted Wheeling: Adding Flesh to Local Ghost Tales
We have all heard stories around town about the Hempfield Tunnel Ghost, the Pink Lady who is said to scare teenagers drinking late at night in Greenwood Cemetery, or the long-dead actors who spook visitors at Towngate Theater. As fun as they are to tell, though, those stories exist as mere fragments. In their current form, they are anecdotes. A truly engaging ghost story, like any good story, needs to have a beginning, middle, and an end. It needs to have engaging characters. It needs to have tension and resolution. Join Wheeling writer, Dr. Christina Fisanick, for a spinetingling workshop that will help you turn local legends (or family lore) into compelling stories that will linger long after the reader turns the page.
