The 3rd Annual Ohio Valley Brain Ball is a premier fundraising gala dedicated to supporting the Alzheimer's Association's mission to advance research, provide care, and raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Scheduled for June 21, 2025, at the Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack, the event promises an evening of inspiration, entertainment, and community engagement.
The Brain Ball serves a dual purpose: to generate essential funds for Alzheimer's research and support services, and to elevate public understanding of the disease's impact. Notably, a significant portion of the funds raised directly benefits local patients and families in the Ohio Valley region.
The event also honors individuals making significant contributions in the fight against Alzheimer's. Past honorees include Dr. Sara Alig, recognized for her volunteer work and support group initiatives, and Dr. Ali Rezai, director of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, acknowledged for his groundbreaking research.
