DuPage County Recorder Document Unveiling & Open House
Upon taking office, DuPage County Recorder Elizabeth M. Chaplin discovered a remarkable historical artifact—a land grant dated 1846, signed by President James K. Polk. This significant document, returned to DuPage County in 2020 by Mr. Theodore J. Faith, Sr., has since been carefully restored under her direction. Now, the Recorder’s Office is honored to share it with the public.
The community is cordially invited to join Recorder Elizabeth M. Chaplin for the official unveiling of this historic document and an open house on May 27th.

This special event offers a rare opportunity to view a tangible piece of the county's past and to learn more about the important work of the DuPage County Recorder’s Office.
