✦ About the Talk ✦

Join us for a captivating evening celebrating the life and work of Charles Deaton, a visionary Colorado-based architect. The talk will feature an introduction to Deaton’s work and a screening of the Rocky Mountain PBS documentary, "Colorado Experience: Charles Deaton: Designs from A New Dimension."

Deaton's unique and innovative architectural style left an indelible mark on the Colorado landscape, especially with his most iconic work, the Sculptured House. The film, part of the award-winning history series "Colorado Experience," delves into the people, events, and places that shaped Deaton's remarkable career and his distinctive approach to design.

Prior to the screening, we will have an engaging discussion about Deaton's legacy, his influence on modern architecture, and the lasting impact of his creations. The talk will be led by Docomomo US/Colorado and Historic Denver, the local organization that manages the property easement of the Sculptured House.

This is a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of one of Colorado's most original and influential creative minds. Whether you're an architecture enthusiast, a history buff, or simply curious about the artistic heritage of our state, this program is not to be missed!
