Kiwi North is teaming up with WDC and City Care to offer a playful nature-ramble and art session during these September school holidays:
Start your adventure with a guided nature-ramble through Millington Bush in Heritage Park, led by botanist Sean Brill. Sean’s tour will be followed by a fun nature-art activity, where we’ll help you make your own bug from the leaves and vegetation collected along the way. One of Kiwi North’s Conservation and Native Species Keepers will also visit you with an extraordinary indigenous critter!
This event is being held in association with Play Week, an annual event led by Sport New Zealand to promote the value of play across Aotearoa.
Here in Whangārei, Play Week activities will be based around celebrating some of our local native creatures – the bat, praying mantis, kauri snail and gecko – and their special attributes. Play Week officially runs from Monday 20 October to Sunday 26 October.
Time: Arrive at Kiwi North reception at 10.15 for a 10.30 start (Please wear shoes suitable for bushwalking!). NB: All Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Location: Kiwi North, 500 State Highway 14 Manu, Whangārei 0179
