The Shutter Room is thrilled to announce "CLOSER," the first exhibition of works by local artist Graeme Lee Main.
The exhibition, which opens on Friday, the 5th of September, will showcase Main's unique approach to capturing the beauty and serenity of the New Zealand Birds and Flowers through close-up photography.
"CLOSER" features over 20 original photographs, embracing techniques such as photostacking, to bring details to things often outside our normal perception. Main's work is characterised by the intense detail, which often removes the viewer from the reality of the subject and makes them question what the subject is.
“I have been a photographer for over 30 years, but nothing compares to taking a close look at what nature hides in plain sight. The exquisite details in New Zealand birds, flowers and plants are breathtaking. This exhibition is a personal invitation to step into my vision of Aotearoa."
