Join us for a free, hands-on drawing workshop with local artist Patricia Long whose current exhibition Complexities is on display in the Community Board Gallery.
In Complexities, Long reflects on the stresses and divisions of contemporary life. Inspired by harakeke (New Zealand flax), she explores its simplicity, resilience, and enduring presence as a metaphor for human qualities we value today: strength, unity, and tolerance.
Through this body of work, Long presents harakeke as a powerful symbol of balance and perseverance, encouraging us to reflect on what humanity can learn from the natural world.
Come be inspired by Patricia’s insights and creativity while you explore your own artistic expression in this engaging workshop.
