About the event

Teas and Talks: Pelham Puppets with David Leech
About David Leech: David began his professional career as a Puppeteer in 1983 when he established the Captain Portland Bill Puppet Theatre in Weymouth Pavilion.

He has a lifelong association with Pelham Puppets working alongside Bob Pelham in the puppet factory in Marlborough, Wiltshire, during the 1970s.

He spent over 30 years researching the history of the puppet company and has had two books published: Collecting Pelham Puppets in 1999 and Pelham Puppets - A Collector's Guide in 2008.
From 2008 to 2019, he relaunched Pelham Puppets for the toy trade and organized the 2017 Marlborough Puppetry Festival celebrating the company's 70th anniversary.
He also runs the official Pelham Puppets history website with identification guides and archives.
