‘Molly’ is a moving, funny and fiercely heart-driven new play that charts one girl’s extraordinary journey to rewrite what she believes is possible.
From the moment she’s born, Molly’s world looks a little different. Living with a chronic condition that reshapes her body, her days, and her dreams, she spends much of her childhood in hospital rooms where time behaves strangely and imagination becomes its own form of escape. Surrounded by family, friends, and the accidental communities that grow in waiting rooms and wards, Molly learns early how to find joy in unlikely places and humour in the hardest moments.
As she grows, so too does her determination — a stubborn, hopeful spark that refuses to be dimmed. Through setbacks, triumphs, daydreams, disappointments and the unwavering love of those around her, Molly begins to discover what it means to live boldly in a life that rarely goes to plan. Her story is one of reinvention: of turning limits into launchpads, of finding possibility where others see impossibility, and of claiming space in a world that isn’t always built to hold you.
Vivid, imaginative and deeply uplifting, ‘Molly’ celebrates resilience, the power of community, and the astonishing strength of an ordinary girl doing an extraordinary thing: choosing hope, again and again. This is a play filled with laughter, heartache, wonder and fierce joy — a reminder that when life pushes us off the map, sometimes that’s exactly where the magic begins.
