24 Hour Postural Management - Sydney

Content Overview

This comprehensive workshop is designed to enhance skills to those involved in postural assessments. Special emphasis will be placed on the value of the “hands on” assessment – for both supine and sitting. We’ll provide the practical tips and tricks to make you much more comfortable doing a MAT assessment. You’ll gain skills and confidence to introduce 24-hour postural care strategies both in wheelchair seating and while resting outside the wheelchair.

This interactive course will facilitate:

● Confidence in assessing appropriate body shapes; gain skill in MAT assessments

● Prevent/Protect against changes in body shape with emphasis on the chest, spine, and pelvis.

● Manage existing changes in body shape to prevent worsening contractures and promote comfort.

● Translate assessment findings into practical trial equipment selection across wheelchairs, postural seating and lying positioning systems.
