Imagine, the Olympic Peninsula has a pirate radio transmitter. One that broadcasts endangered plants and at-risk animals. Passionate weather. Angry geology. This transmitter is broadcasting from a frequency where the planet has had enough and speaks through earthquake and tsunami. Where the DJs spin tunes where red squirrels, dwarf birches, fly agaric mushroom, and a peat bog sing their laments about invisible man-made toxins and chemicals. Where landscape keens for sea life suffocated in oil and strangled by plastic leaked through the speakers.

Author Jeffrey Dunn will read from Radio Free Olympia, his critically acclaimed, magically realistic novel that is just such a pirate radio station. Come and be a part of the discussion about our peninsula's natural and human history and the way it is a place from which to sing a new song.
