The Music West Big Band

The Music West Big Band is the west of Ireland's newest big band. Based at Music West in Castlebar they are very much a community band who come together to play some fabulous music. They play a varied repertoire of big band jazz, swing, latin & rhythm & blues from Glenn Miller, through Count Basie, Frank Sinatra & Ella Fitzgerald to Van Morrison, Caro Emerald & Kirsty McColl plus, of course, all of your Christmas big band favourites!


Richard Lewis performs an eclectic soirée of song selections that range from the cheesy to the downright inspired. Not only is Lewis’ patter quick-fire and knowledgeable, but his piano playing is sublime with selections that range from The Lion King (Disney’s Hamlet) and Queen, through to Beethoven!!
