A note from Pastor Pat ahead of this Sunday's service...
Dear Church Family,
This week, we continue our journey through the book of Jeremiah, a prophet who spoke to God’s people in a time of great struggle. Jeremiah reminds Israel—and us—that God is the fountain of living water, while the things we cling to in life are nothing more than leaky buckets that cannot hold what gives life.
Just like Israel, we're often tempted to put our trust in money, or success, or comfort. But these “leaky buckets” cannot refresh us or sustain us. They leave us empty. Only God’s living water brings life, wholeness, and hope.
Jeremiah also challenges us to live faithfully in response to God’s love:
To welcome and care for refugees and strangers.
To love our neighbors—without exceptions.
To care for the sick and the poor.
To honor and protect God’s creation.
To resist replacing God with false gods like wealth, fame, or power.
Though we are broken vessels that often forget, wander, and leak away God’s grace, the Good News is this: God never abandons us. Instead, God keeps calling us back—through prayer, worship, and daily trust in Him.
Choosing God is not just a one-time decision; it is a daily act of surrender and trust. When we return to God, the fountain of living water, we find the abundant life that Jesus promises (John 10:10).
This week, may we each put down our leaky buckets and drink deeply from God’s living water.
We hope you can join us for worship.
