Let’s meet Newport First Responders Heroes

Have you heard about the group called “First Responders” and what they do for the community?
This meet will give you the opportunity to get to know them and their mission, how they help and even what to do in some critical situations to save someone’s life.

In a few words, Newport Community First Responders are a group of volunteers who respond in their own time to calls that come in via West Midlands Ambulance Service Control Room, in other words the "999" system. Because they are based in the community they can get to patients quickly and render emergency treatment in the time it takes for an ambulance to arrive. In rural locations this time can be upwards of an hour.

They also provide community training in the use of Defibrillators and first aid.

So please join us on Saturday 11th October to learn more and get a very useful Save a Life skills.
