About the Classes
Whether you're completely new to art or just feeling a bit rusty, these friendly, down-to-earth sessions are designed to help you build real skills and enjoy the process.
We’ll cover the important stuff—how to draw accurately, how to make your paintings work, and how to actually see like an artist. The teaching is structured but relaxed, with step-by-step guidance and plenty of encouragement.
Groups are small, so there’s always time for personal help. You’ll learn a lot—but we still have a laugh along the way.

This Term’s Classes
Tuesdays – Art for Beginners
If you’ve never drawn before (or not since school), this is a great place to start. We’ll focus on the fundamentals—things like proportion, perspective, composition and value—while building your confidence bit by bit.
Dates - 4th, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th Sept and 14th October - 6 - weeks = £75. (note 4th Sept is a Thursday, can't get the room on the 2nd)
Wednesdays – Painting for Beginners & Improvers
This class is ideal if you’ve already done a bit of drawing or painting and want to keep improving. This term, we’ll be painting a close-up portrait of an expressive animal in acrylics, with tips and techniques throughout to help you get better results.

Materials
We’ll mainly use graphite and acrylic paint.
Do I need to bring my own? Yes—but I’ll guide you on what’s worth buying and what you can save money on. There’s also a YouTube video that walks through the basics of what you need for acrylic painting.
