Bring your craft project or plan. Admission is $10 per person for the entire day. We will have several Spinning Wheels available for rental during the event for an additional $25 for the day. The 10am Beginner Weaving class is $100 with all materials and equipment included (registration link below).
The Beginner Weaving Class will teach you the fundamentals of weaving on a rigid heddle loom, including loom setup, basic weaving techniques, and completing a simple project. This class is designed for those with no prior weaving experience and will cover everything you need to get started.
While creating a color block scarf using acrylic yarn, you will learn:
Loom Basics: Understanding the parts of a rigid heddle loom and how it works.
Warping the Loom: Learning how to prepare the warp threads, which create the lengthwise structure of your fabric.
Basic Weaving Techniques: Mastering plain weave (over-and-under) and other fundamental techniques.
Finishing Your Project: Learning how to remove your woven piece from the loom and finish the edges (e.g., creating fringe).
Troubleshooting: Gaining tips and tricks for a smooth weaving experience and addressing common issues.
