About the event

Monarch Tagging
Monarch tagging is a great way to participate in an important conservation practice and citizen science project! The monarch population has been declining since the mid 1990s, and we tag them as part of a national research project to better understand their migration patterns. Join a Fayette County Conservation naturalist to learn about the monarch's unique life cycle, how to handle them, determine their gender, and properly tag them. All butterflies will be released after we tag them. All ages are encouraged to participate. Bring a butterfly net if you have one, otherwise we have some to share!
