UNITED WE STAND RED / WHITE / BLUE PATRIOTIC THEMES
Saturday 03/28/26 11:00 - 1:00 in People’s Park in West Plains Mo.
For those of you not familiar with People’s Park, it is on the southwest corner of the intersection of Broadway and Porter Wagoner Blvd.
WEATHER: TBD
PARKING: There is parking on the Park grounds. If overflow parking is needed, the parking lot in front of the Armory Bldg is public parking. Street parking is also allowed along Halstead St. (west of the Park) and Webster Ave. (south of the Park). Do not block driveways or hydrants and be aware of any no parking signs or curbs marked in yellow. Please do not take up the angle parking along Broadway which is for Butler Children’s park.
GATHER: We want to gather just before 11:00, before we start our event, to take a picture and answer any questions. If it is raining, gather in the Pavilion. The Pavilion is up the hill from the intersection along Broadway. Otherwise gather in the grassy area behind the Veterans memorial.
SECURITY: A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent peaceful action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate (walk away from) any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and issue positions, and to act lawfully at these events. Indivisible is concerned about counter-protestors infiltrating our events and causing problems. DO NOT ENGAGE WITH ANY COUNTER-PROTESTORS. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to these events. ONLY the Host or the Security Lead should call the Police when needed.
SIGNS: We have a number of signs available and will have blank foam board and markers available to make your own signs. Please feel free to bring your own signs. Signs should not include any vulgarities and should stick to issues (oh, so many issues). Personal attack signs are discouraged.
VISIBILITY ACTIONS: Stay on the sidewalk or in the grassy area from the intersection along Broadway to the west and along Porter Wagoner. DO NOT go into the street. There will be a group of people doing a “This is Fascism” protest action
These people will be in black clothes and carrying black signs. They will be lining up along Porter Wagoner south of the intersection.
Above all else…..be safe, have a good time, meet new like-minded friends and most importantly, Protect our Right to Protest.
