How Our New Coding Class Works
Our coding program is designed to make computer science approachable, fun, and confidence-building for kids in grades 2–5. We start with the essentials, helping students understand that coding is simply a series of commands that create actions, animations, and experiences.
To build a strong foundation, the class begins with block-based programming tools like Scratch and Code.org, where students can see their code come to life. This visual approach helps young learners grasp core concepts without the overwhelm of typing syntax.
As students grow more comfortable, we gradually transition into real-world programming languages such as Java and JavaScript. These later sessions introduce true coding structure and logic, giving students a meaningful head start on skills they’ll use in middle school, high school, and beyond.
Our goal is simple:
make coding creative, accessible, and exciting—so every child feels empowered to learn, explore, and build.
