Most members of Narara Ecovillage have had to reduce their personal belongings and declutter when moving house. Many are reluctant to throw items away and add to landfill, preferring instead to repurpose, recycle, sell, store or give away their belongings. Many pay for ‘temporary’ storage while building their home, which unfortunately becomes semi-permanent storage, incurring monthly fees to store ‘stuff’ that may never be used again.
Come and hear from people with lived experience of decluttering: which rooms and items to start with, what method and systems help, and where to recycle items like shoes, batteries and building materials.
Before attending, make a list of the spaces and items you most want to declutter, and think about deadlines. Leave with an action plan.
