Untitled: A Creative Collaboration

Does a title provide context, narrative, and emotional essence, hinting at what the artist wants us to feel, or does it impede the viewer’s interpretation?
Depending on the artist you ask, the task of titling work can be an opportunity to take stock of their creation, or a nebulous exercise in seeking to honor the work and speak to the viewer.

Philadelphia CollageWork’s Untitled exhibition invites viewers into the artwork titling process. Based on your observations, imagination, and interactions with the artwork, guests will have the opportunity to create a title for each piece in the exhibition. Over 90 pieces including collage, assemblage, bookart and more. Admission Free. Complimentary refreshments and light fare.
