We have a fantastic new project called "Threads of Us", and we are hosting a workshop at Powis Castle for young people who would like to be involved!
With support from the Community Cohesion Small Grants Fund 2025, we are launching "Threads of Us: A Community Tapestry", a collaborative arts project designed to bring
together people from diverse cultural backgrounds in North East Powys (focused around Welshpool and Llanfyllin), including minority communities such as Polish, Ukraine, Asian, and Welsh-speaking groups, to create a large-scale community tapestry.
This project is predominantly aimed at young people, contributing their own fabric square that represents a personal story, cultural symbol, or message of unity.
These squares will be sewn together into a single, evolving piece that visually reflects the collective identity and diversity of the area.
Alongside the actual square the young people and artists will be asked to share the meaning behind
their design.
Our thanks to Powis Castle for hosting our event.
The finished artwork will be on display at various locations.
