MEG talk - Converting Slurry into Biochar

The next MEG talk is on Monday 15th September at 7.30pm in Montgomery town hall.

John Owen, from the consultancy firm Lafan, will talk about an experimental project near Welshpool to turn cattle slurry into biochar. Regulations on spreading of slurry are becoming tighter with growing concern about water quality. Making biochar enables the nutrients to be returned to the soil without leaching into the water system, and also locks carbon up within the soil for thousands of years.
