These September school holidays, welcome the season of new life and bright colours at our family-friendly Pavilion Open Day. Tamariki can explore the garden’s spring magic through self-guided, hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and connection.
Activities include:
• Nature’s Colours Art Table – Create your own “spring colour” bookmark using petals, leaves, and other natural treasures.
• Spring Scavenger Hunt – Follow clues to spot signs of the season: sweet-scented flowers, fresh buds, busy birds and more.
• Spring Reading Nook – Relax on the grass mat with tree-stump cushions and enjoy a basket of spring-themed books.
• Bird’s Nest Discovery Table – Get up close to real nests (ethically sourced), soft bird puppets, and natural playdough to shape “eggs” and match them to their native bird owners.
Perfect for children aged 4–12 and their whānau. Dress for a day outdoors and celebrate te kōanga—the vibrant season of growth!
