Now in its 67th year, Ceramicus returns to the Wellington Botanic Garden’s Begonia House from 5–15 November!
Presented by the Wellington Potters’ Association in partnership with Wellington City Council, this much-loved annual exhibition celebrates the creativity and diversity of contemporary ceramics in the Wellington region.
This year we’re thrilled to welcome Aaron Scythe as our Guest Selector and Featured Artist. Known for blending Japanese and New Zealand ceramic traditions, Aaron brings both mastery of technique and a spirit of experimentation to his work. His curatorial eye promises an exhibition that’s thoughtful, dynamic, and full of surprises.
✨ Don’t miss our Pop-Up Pottery Market!
Alongside the exhibition, join us on 8 & 9 November and 15 & 16 November for the Ceramicus Pop-Up Pottery Market, held just outside the Begonia House. Browse and buy directly from local potters, explore a range of handcrafted ceramics—from elegant tableware to unique statement pieces—and take home something special. The market is free and open to everyone, a perfect way to meet the makers and support Wellington’s vibrant ceramics community.
