Fringe Artists Online Accessibility Workshop
Tuesday 16th September, Online 6 pm
New Zealand Fringe Festival and Arts Access Aotearoa present a free online accessibility workshop for independent artists, producers, and creatives.
Are you an independent artist putting on an event this year who would like to increase accessibility for artists and audiences? Come along to this online session to learn how to make your show more accessible in a way that fits into any budget or capacity. We’ll discuss:
*Providing accessibility information and resources
*Working with venues.
*Accessibility programmes like audio description, New Zealand Sign Language interpretation, relaxed performances, and more.
*Accessible auditions, rehearsals, and show seasons
We’ll also talk specifically about resources and support available for Deaf and disabled artists working on and producing shows.
If you are interested in accessibility but don’t know where to start, you want to take your accessibility to the next level, or you’re a Deaf or disabled artist, this workshop is for you!
The workshop is facilitated by Arts Access Aotearoa’s Arts For All Activator Katie Querin, a disabled creative with over a decade of experience in theatre and arts accessibility. Joining Katie is Lead Accessibility Advisor Stace Robertson, a disabled artist and driver of Taha Hotu Deaf and Disabled Artists Initiative.
Please register or get in touch with questions by emailing
