Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day: A Caring Kids and Families Workshop

All are welcome and invited to join us Sunday, October 12th, from 12-1:30 for a pizza lunch and a special workshop celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Together, we’ll explore some of the wisdom of Indigenous peoples, learn why this day matters, and reflect on how we can live in right relationship with the Earth and with one another. Through storytelling, interactive activities, and games, families will have the opportunity to explore how Indigenous traditions inspire us to strive for justice, compassion, and care for creation. We’ll create a collective “Justice Promise” to guide how we practice justice in our community, play a fun “Protect the Water” relay game, and honor the teachings of water protectors everywhere.

This workshop is designed for children ages 5–12 and their families, but all ages are welcome. Come ready to listen, learn, and take part in creative, hands-on activities that remind us that justice begins with us.
