VAN FLEET TRAIL

29 miles long (58 miles round trip), flat & straight on Van Fleet State Trail to Polk City and then another 7 miles on the Auburndale TECO Trail. Rural, not many amenities from end to end.

North end at Mabel (Mabel Trailhead: 7981 County Road 772, Webster, FL 33597, GPS: N 28.5776 / W -81.9768), on SR 50 about 19 miles east of I-75. Water and restrooms at north end and once on trail 19 miles south of Mabel (at Green Pond Road). There are many benches along trail.

There is a restaurant in Polk City. When you reach the parking lot take the street (left) east about 0.2 mi. and north (left) 0.1 mi. to Country Angels Restaurant (on left) (863-984-1047).

From the Van Fleet State Trail in Polk City continue south onto TECO Auburndale Trail another 7 miles to small park with water and nice restrooms. On your way you will cross Pace Street which has a nice trail running along it that goes about 5 miles along University Blvd.

Driving directions from Inverness to Mabel: S on US 41 to Floral City. Then E on CR 48 about 28 miles (jogs through Bushnell – follow signs carefully). At Center Hill leave 48 and go straight onto CR 469 until it ends at SR 50. Then right (W) 1 mile to brown trail sign. Go left to parking lot.
