Backcountry Engineering: Pioneering

Step back in time and discover the hands-on skills that built the frontier! In this unique Pioneering class, Search and Rescue trainer Steve Kuni will guide you through ropes, knots, and lashings to construct functional backcountry structures like camp gadgets, tripods, and even small bridges—just like the early pioneers and Scouts. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, aspiring survivalist, or just willing to learn about wilderness ingenuity, this class will boost your confidence and creativity. No previous experience is needed—just a sense of adventure and willingness to get hands-on. Class runs from 10 AM to 12 PM; all materials are provided. Come ready to tie, build, and explore!
