A Full Retrospective: Local 96 Year Old Artist’s Work to Be Exhibited

Over a career spanning 70 years, gifted artist Saul Kaplan created a stunning collection of work on paper, canvas and ceramics. His creations have been exhibited and sold world-wide for decades.

An exhibit and sale of Kaplan’s work will be on display at the Russell Museum, 518 W. Main St., Waynesboro beginning Saturday, August 23. The public is cordially invited to this free, opening reception from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

Born in Brooklyn in 1929 Kaplan’s introduction to professional art making began in 1948 at the prestigious Han Hofmann School of Fine Arts. Kaplan’s signature style includes single or multi-planed faces defined by strong lines, cross-hatching and rhythmic curves.

At age 96 Kaplan desires that people enjoy his artwork in their homes. In keeping with this wish his work is being offered at budget friendly, affordable prices
