Sensory Story Time

Story Time at 10am
Activities until 11:30am

Children love our Sensory Story Times! These story times are unique in that the children enjoy listening to the stories while exploring themed sensory bins that bring the stories to life.

Afterwards, children can join us in the Art Studio to participate in a variety of hands-on activities themed after the stories.

Sensory Story Time and activities are included with general daily admission of $7/child and $1/Adult to the Greater Wausau Children’s Museum or $2/child Museums for All admission and free for GWCM Annual Pass Holders.


What is the value of sensory play with story time? Research tells us:

*Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine/gross motor skills, problem solving/reasoning, and promotes social interaction.

*Sensory play supports brain development by building neural connections that promote thought, learning, and creativity.
