Enrichment Workshop - Intermediate

Get crafty for a cause! Join us for a hands-on Enrichment Workshop at the Center for Great Apes! These interactive sessions give participants the opportunity to craft engaging enrichment items that support the natural behaviors and mental stimulation of the orangutans and chimpanzees. Each workshop—offered at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels—features a guided project and concludes with an educational group tour of the sanctuary.

Build enrichment that lasts! This intermediate-level workshop focuses on crafting durable PVC honeycomb feeders that our apes can enjoy again and again. These puzzles promote natural foraging behaviors while being easy for caregivers to clean and refill.

Intermediate Enrichment Workshops include approximately 1.5 hours of hands-on project time followed by a group educational tour of the sanctuary. Please come ready to participate! Some basic tool use is involved, but all skill levels are welcome. Ages 12+.
