Main Street will be closed from Temple to Spring Streets for a night of art, music, food, and fun to kick off the new school year! Events are FREE unless otherwise noted.
At the Lockwood Hotel Miller Room patio, 9 Main Street:
5–7pm Opening Reception for WILD MAYBES! Celebrate Waterville’s newest playful sculptures in Levine’s Park by artist Chris Miller. Enjoy light bites on the Lockwood Miller Room patio while mingling with fellow art lovers.
At the Paul J. Schupf Art Center, 93 Main Street:
5–7pm Community Weaving + Art-Making
Join artist Sarah Haskell to help create a river loom inspired by the exhibit DARK THE NIGHT AND BRIGHT THE STARS. Make your own clothespin self-portrait to add to the collaborative artwork. (Rain location: Art Center lobby.)
Lawn Games & Snacks with Colby College Museum of Art.
Play outside, enjoy treats, and join in the celebration of a new school year.
Chalk Art with Waterville Creates! Get creative on the streets! Contribute your own sidewalk masterpiece and see what local art teachers dream up.

7:30pm Deathtrap at the Waterville Opera House (tickets required)

At Greene Block + Studios, 18 Main Street:
4–7pm Explore the studios, check out the programming space, and discover free workshops and events coming this academic year. Plus enjoy music from Elm City Music school.
What are First Fridays?
First Fridays celebrate the vibrant creativity in Waterville through a wide array of arts experiences. On the first Friday of every month, visit downtown Waterville to meet artists, see performances, listen to live music, eat delicious food, shop at local businesses, enjoy the arts, and come together as a community.
