Art Break: Search for Rest (Nile River) by Gertrude Abercrombie

Join us on the first and third Thursday of each month during the academic semesters to spend time with a work of art on view in the Colby College Museum of Art's galleries. This week, Kate Hunter, the Colby's Arts Office Program Manager, will facilitate a conversation focusing on "Search for Rest" by Gertrude Abercrombie.

Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. These looking experiences are facilitated by museum staff, interns, community collaborators, and special guests.
