Vassily Primakov, piano: From Chopin with Love

Hailed as “a great Chopin pianist” by the American Record Guide and praised for performances of “extraordinary power and beauty” (Music Web-International), Vassily Primakov has earned his place among the world’s most compelling classical artists. A Moscow native and Juilliard graduate, Primakov’s artistry has been recognized with top honors from the Gina Bachauer and Young Concert Artists competitions, as well as the Classical Recording Foundation’s “Young Artist of the Year.”

His recordings span a vast repertoire—from Bach to Rachmaninoff, Debussy to Philip Glass—and his interpretations of Chopin and Mozart have drawn comparisons to legendary figures. BBC Music Magazine lauded his Mozart concertos as “refined, multi-coloured, and immaculately balanced,” while Gramophone declared his Chopin “empathetic to the spirit” in a way few can match.

Primakov is co-founder of L.P. Classics, a boutique label known for vibrant releases including his acclaimed Live in Concert album. A Yamaha Artist since 2012, he continues to captivate audiences worldwide with performances that sing, soar, and shimmer with poetic vibrancy.

This is an all-Chopin program including Etude, Op. 25, No. 11; Polonaise in f#, Op. 44, Scherzo in E, Op. 54 and many other selections.
